Thank you for booking a massage/PEMF session with Better Strides Equine Bodywork! I offer multiple different bodywork modalities to help ensure that your equine partner will thrive and feel their best! Whether you have booked PEMF services or massage services, you will want to take the following into consideration before we meet up so I can help your equine partner feel their best:
Your Horse Needs to be Clean and Dry
I don’t expect owners to bathe horses just for me to work on them, but muddy, wet, or sticky horses are almost impossible to do bodywork on. Please be sure that your equine friend has been brushed and is dry enough for me to provide bodywork services.
Someone Needs to be Present During the Service
We all know that horses have their preferences, which is why it is safest for me as your bodyworker, to have another set of hands present during the appointment. Make sure that you, or someone else horse knowledgeable is there and ready to help out should the need arise.
While I do not require help performing massage or PEMF services in a direct sense, sometimes horses become worried about meeting a new person or might feel out of their element, especially during their first few sessions. Having another set of hands during the appointment will ensure that your horse and myself are able to work productively together.
I Create Unique Care Plans
Every horse is different, and I always take the time to evaluate what your horse needs based on their current workload, the problems that you report experiencing with training or comfort, and the physical challenges that I identify when I work on your horse. I can offer a variety of bodywork services, such as trigger point release, basic massage, red light therapy, and PEMF services to help your equine friend to feel their best. Your horse will be provided with bodywork that is targeted at their specific needs, and I will offer you ongoing supportive activities to do in between services.
All Owners Are Required to Fill out a Release Form and Health History for Each Horse
Every horse and owner will need to fill out and sign a health questionnaire and release form. I can only offer quality services if I am familiar with your horse’s history and if owners are aware of the scope and potential of the services that I can provide. This is an aspect of my bodywork services for which there are NO EXCEPTIONS.
I Am Not a Veterinarian
Equine bodyworkers are not veterinarians. I cannot diagnose injury or illness. Massage therapy and PEMF services are not an alternative to proper veterinary care. If your horse is being treated by your veterinarian for anything other than basic, routine care, you will need to get a written consent from your vet to allow your horse to receive massage or PEMF services.
Please fill out the attached form and sign it. Having this necessary step completed before the appointment will save time for everyone. I look forward to working with you and your equine partner! I am excited to help you both to make Better Strides!
